someone please stop me cause I can't stop thinking about the potential of a Hellcheer Beetlejuice AU
Jonathan and Nancy are the newlyweds who tragically die young in a car accident. When the Cunningham family moves into their house (headed by a high-strung mother with a terrible instinct for interior design), they have no luck haunting them and have to call on the services of a bio-exorcist Betelgeuse (or, as he was known in life, Eddie Munson).
He takes the job but quickly gets distracted by the Cunninghams' beautiful but morose daughter, Chrissy, and comes up with a scheme to marry her in order to get a green card back into the world of the living.

Projecting my own teen experiences onto the kiddads bc I’m out of the house rn and I think it’s funny
Terry: took a parenting class in 12th grade and on the first night of his culminative assignment he ended up crying, naked wrapped in a towel, on the bathroom floor after the robot baby interrupted him pre-shower.
Lark: left for school in the morning then walked around for two blocks before heading back home, after his parents went to work. Snuck in through his bedroom window on more than one occasion, when either parent stayed home. Did this for a week straight.
Sparrow: got clocked as aspec before he even realized while out at a cafe during lunch with Rebecca, but she told him she didn’t mind because she’s good with her hands and can just think about him??
Grant: while on a date w/ his high school boyfriend at the fair, his boyfriend’s mother tracked him down just to argue with him. Grant attempted to slip away to offer some privacy but his boyfriend kept an iron grip on his hand, so he spent the next several minutes awkwardly turned away from the argument.
Nick: during an orthodontist appointment, was recommended to install metal springs because he kept forgetting to wear his elastics. Without even discussing it, Jodie gave the okay for the springs but the smallest size available were too big - therefore not installed - and Nick refused to speak to Jodie for the rest of the day.

I hope it’s not too late to ask about Non-Euclidean Nan Elmoth? Because that sounds fascinating. Glorfindel being confused and in distress is a thing I like more than poor Glorfindel deserves.
It's never too late to ask about Non-Euclidean Nan Elmoth! (also my most recent call for requests is still open, I've decided, no matter how long ago that was) And I'm avoiding my classwork, so you get [checks notes] 250 words
--
The stranger waits patiently while Laurefindelë recovers his breath enough to say, “I - well - I’ve gotten lost. ...Somehow I think you could already tell as much.”
“Yes, I rather could,” the stranger says, his voice dripping condescension. “It’s getting late, and you look weary. Come into my home, traveler, let me offer you meat and drink.”
Laurefindelë looks down at him, trying to get his brain to work. How late is it? Late afternoon, when he crossed the river, and that wasn’t so long ago. Was it? But - the starlight - Laurefindelë cannot tell if those are actually stars or pinpricks of sunlight, straining to get through the canopy.
How dangerous would it be to accept this person’s hospitality? Is it hospitality at all, or a trap? But if he were entirely hostile, surely he wouldn’t be offering, since he very obviously can lead Laurefindelë wherever he likes.
How dangerous would it be to refuse it? Whoever this person is, he does not seem likely to say, “Oh, that’s all right, if you go that way and take a left at the third sycamore you’ll be out of here on the other side in no time.” He seems more like a “Fine with me, if you want to walk in circles until you starve or get eaten by wild animals” kind of person, if not an “I was just being polite, but now you’re getting locked in my basement instead of given a seat at my dinner table” kind of person.

And so the big sskk shortage begins (no sskk for the next 15 episodes) (and the sskk episode coming after kind of sucks)
#Hhhhhh this is such a good episode.#I don't have any particular strong feeling for Fukuzawa nor Ranpo but this is a very good episode.#The pacing is great the tension and ease are well distributed as much as action and exposition are.#The animation is spectacular and detailed. The drawings beautiful. The imperfect black and white is original‚ compelling and eyecatching#Truly something that shows the animators were given budget and enough time to really think it through. Please more of this#Off to more personal notes I clearly remember the moment in my dorm room I watched the bsd anime–#come back for the first time after three years and the reveal of the untold origins novel being adapted that came with it.#It's such a sweet memory. I was so so excited and happy and thinking back at it makes me :')#In love with Oda's voice please speak more baby#About voices Fukuzawa looks so younggggg and yet his voice is so deepppppppp it's a funny contrast ahah.#Fukuzawa was very pretty when he was younger.#Distributing countless papers on the floor of my childhood's house attic to order them to the point there was no space left to walk is–#something I actually used to do when I was little. That's a cute memory too. I've always liked organizing stuff lol#Seeing all the actors preparing in the backstage threw me back to my musical theater hyperfixation.#Theater backstage feels so familiar to me if only because I used to keep up with the actors' i/nstagram stories religiously pffttttt#I really like Oda.#Wish his life had a little more happiness in it. Wish Fukuzawa could have adopted him too. Wish he could have married Dazai.#Alas :///#Aight no Atsushi this episode (and no Akutagawa for a whole season God‚‚‚‚‚‚‚ ) but a lot more exciting things to come!!!!!#Oh almost forgot the op and ed songs are so good too hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh#Actually I think I just might have a soft spot for everything s4 since it's the first season I witnessed as it was airing pffttt#random rambles#I probably need to find a better file to watch the season... So far I'm still using the old episodes I individually downloaded–#as the anime was dropping. Which technically are still 1080 mkv but idk I feel like the quality is not the best.#And the subtitles are suboptimal

Honestly, I made that joke about Van’s ancient desktop, but it probably works better than new computers. And it made me think: god, Van must HATE planned obsolescence. Stuff that’s built to die? Stuff that’s built to fall apart in a matter of years just to force you to buy more? For a person whose whole deal is gripping tight to the past, to old technology that still works perfectly fine, to the idea of survival threaded through everything from the stories she tells to the machines she rents out? Yeah, dude. No wonder she hates her cell phone. Not only does it force the illusion of connection without actually granting intimacy, but it’s doomed from the minute you take the thing out of the box. For Van, the very idea has got to be offensive.

Anyway thinking about how I got accused of cultural appropriation a couple years ago because I’m actively learning Japanese and also about how my parents are seriously downsizing their belongings and so they’re giving me all of their Japanese stuff including the kimonos and wall scrolls and swords and kamidana which I’ll have to figure out where to put in my own house which also means the background of all my dog photos inside of my house is about to look real fucking Japanese.
And I’ll probably get like three asks a day accusing me of being a weeb and I’ll have to continuously explain that, no, we were a host family for a rural Japanese school exchange program throughout the 90s and early 2000s and this is just a portion of the stuff given to us both by the school and by the families of the various girls we had living with us over the years. Because there’s enough stuff to fill the entire attic and a large portion of my parents’ living room and they’re tired of storing it but know it’s valuable and that they have a kid that actually wants it so it’s coming to my house. Like they gave us each multiple sets of kimonos over the years and it’s a family of 5 so you can expect that takes up a shitton of space by itself.

I actually seriously hate nights and I believe I posted about it before because this is how much I hate this cursed time. Everyday I dread whenever it gets dark because this is usually the time when my brain just decides to blast me with the most horrific images and thoughts, like I'm not shitting you I just try to fall asleep as quickly as possible and then it's like I'm being yelled at with how much my thoughts just get louder and continuously repeating the most paranoia inducing sentences I can imagine also there is no way to fix that. Might be because it's just so quiet and I'm just laying still doing nothing, because similiar things also happen when I'm home alone and bored with zero background noise. Like it doesn't matter if I know my mother is just in the next room I'm still terrified the entire time and have to keep the curtains open for maximum light and even the sound of my brother snoring is a comfort. Every day I wake up I feel so brave for surviving five nights at freddy at my house

At this point I've combed the show for info on the shack's layout so thoroughly and so many times I can authoritatively answer nearly any question on its layout.
... Unfortunately, some of those answers are "it is unknowable."
